Volunteers staff the fort as it might have been during the Holidays for this special living history event held annually during the first weekend in December. Visitors can witness the joys, pleasures and pastimes of the 1840s at an isolated trading post. The spirit of the season comes alive with wagon rides, games, toy making and other holiday festivities that all can participate in. The event begins Friday evening with candlelight tours of the fort and continues all through Saturday, culminating with another evening of candlelight tours. In spite of cold weather in 2009 more than 800 visitors took part in the daytime activities and candlelight tours.
