Bent's Old Fort Fiftieth Anniversary:

Join the celebration on June 5, 2010 as Bent's Old Fort commemorates its fiftieth anniversary of becoming part of the National Park Service. On June 3, 1960, an Act of Congress created the park. Since that time, the site has come from being archeological ruins through a process of reconstruction to one of the most recognized and premiere living history sites in the United States. Archeologists, planners, builder, masons, volunteers, and park staff will tell their stories of how the fort has been returned to life. Activities will include talks, living history demonstrations and portrayals.
